CDL Written Test – Please ensure all required documents have been submitted on the CDL Portal. This includes your application, self-certification and current medical certificate. This process typically takes 7-10 business days to complete. Hazmat applicants must also make sure the fingerprint background has been returned. CDL license holders will have to pay $5 for each endorsement test you take. Motorcycle Permit – An intermediate license, at least, is required. If under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian will have to be with you to sign. Reinstatement – Must first pay $40.00 reinstatement fee online at www.drive.ky.gov Non-Permanent Resident – Start with Circuit Court Clerk or local Transportation Cabinet Office.
